These Terms and Conditions will apply to the registration of Participation at our Events by you (the Participant or you). We are Blitz Run Ltd a company registered in England and Wales under number 10474136 with email address (email@example.com); (the Event Organisers, Blitz Run or us or we).
Event or Events means any race distances offered by Blitz Run, including, but not limited to, Half Marathons, 10K’s and 5K’s
Event Organisers means Blitz Run
Website means our website www.blitzrun.com on which Blitz Run events are offered
Fee means the cost of entry payable prior to participation
Online Registration Form means the pages on www.blitzrun.com which must be completed prior to participation
Online Confirmation means confirmation of acceptance (electronically via email) to participate in the Event
Participant means the named person on the accepted entry
Terms and Conditions means these terms as set out below
3. Blitz Run Events
The description of the Events is as set out in the Website or other form of advertisement. Our Events are wholly or in part sponsored, produced, directed, organised, conducted or paid for by Blitz Run.
4. Participant responsibilities
You must co-operate with us in all matters relating to the Event, provide us and our authorised representatives with all information as required to participate in the Event and obtain any medical clearances and consents required.
No drugs, performance enhancing substances or intoxicants of any kind are permitted to be brought to, or used by, any Participant either before or during the Event. We reserve the right to refuse entry to, and participation by, any person found to be under the influence of any such substance.
Failure to comply with the above is a Participant default which entitles us to suspend participation in the Event.
5. Personal information and Race Registration
Half marathon: When registering only persons aged 17 years and older on race day may register to participate in the half marathon. For the 5K event, Children aged 4 to 16 years on race day may register only if they are accompanied by an adult being at least 18 years of age. For the 10K event, Children aged 9 to 16 years on race day may register to participate for the race if accompanied by an adult being at least 18 years of age.
Participation in the Event is only confirmed once you have received email confirmation which is sent out once payment has been processed. We do not refund any fees paid for participation, however we reserve the right to assess any exceptional circumstances where a refund may be offered.
Participants grant Event Organisers exclusive right and license throughout the world to interview, photograph and/or film participants at any Event and further grant licence for unlimited use in all current and future media (including without limitation, print, audio, audio visual, virtual media, the Internet, mobile telephony, “3-G” technologies, CD-ROM or DVDs) including race results in connection with the production, advertisement, marketing or promotion for a Blitz Run event.
We may contact you by using e-mail or other electronic communication methods and by pre-paid post and you expressly agree to this.
6. Race Packs
Blitz Run provide all Participants with an official time chipped race number in their race pack (some races excluded). Each race number is personal to the Participant.
Each Participant is required to wear the chipped race number assigned to his/her registration and agrees not to authorise or permit any third party to use their designated race bib for another event.
Running times at Events can only be recorded by using the digital timing chip incorporated into the race number. For this reason, it is imperative for Participants to wear their assigned number.
Event Organisers reserve the right to disqualify from or refuse entry to any Participant who is found to be ineligible to participate in the Event.
Event Organisers reserve the right to reject any Participant registration which is found to be in breach of our Terms and Conditions, failure of Participant to wear their assigned official race number, or if it is discovered, information provided at registration is fraudulent. In some cases, rejected Participants may be prevented from registering from any further Blitz Run events.
Blitz Run events are held at various locations as outlined in each event page.
Event Organisers reserve the right to change the time, date and/or venue and format of the Event and in some circumstances, cancel the Event, in whole or in part, without prior notice or liability to the Participant.
Participants agree to adhere to and abide by all rules, instructions and regulations published and displayed by the Event Organisers or as given on the day of the Event by race marshals, officials or police.
Drink stations are provided at approximate equal distances on the half marathon, 10k and 5k events as well as at the finish.
8. Participants Declaration
We will supply the Event with reasonable skill and care.
All Participants understand that participation in and training for these Events involves potentially dangerous physical activity and inherent risks and dangers of accidents, personal injury (including death) and loss or damage to property. Therefore, Participant confirms that by completing and submitting the Online Registration Form, they are, to the best of their knowledge, healthy and fit to run, they have evaluated the nature, scope and extent of the risks involved and choose to assume these risks. The Event Organisers reserve the right to refuse the Participants attendance at, and/or participation in any Event.
Participants agree that any medical information given at time of registration may be used by medical staff, where necessary, to treat or otherwise assist the participant as required during the Event. It is solely the Participant’s responsibility to inform Event Organisers of any change in medical conditions from date of registration up to and including the start of the Event. All medical information is used in accordance with current data protection legislation.
9. Excluding liability
Event Organisers do not provide any insurance, whether life or medical or liability, for any illness, accident, injury, death, loss or damage that may occur in connection with the attendance or participation in Events. All participants are required to obtain such insurance themselves as required.
10. Governing law, jurisdiction and complaints
The Contract (including any non-contractual matters) is governed by the law of England and Wales.
Disputes can be submitted to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales or, where the Customer lives in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts of respectively Scotland or Northern Ireland.
