Fundraising for a Charity / Cause

If you would like to run in one of our events and raise money for a charity or cause that you support then we would like to help by pointing you in the right direction. You can either collect donations online or manually, or both. Firstly, here are a few frequently asked questions relating to fundraising:

No – anyone can fundraise. As an individual you don’t have to register with any organisation to be able to raise money. However it’s important that you know that there are rules that you will need to follow. It will be beneficial for you to look at the Code of Fundraising Practice.
Yes. There are many causes you can raise funds for without it being for a registered charity. Examples include a community group or an individual who needs expensive medical treatment. Please bear in mind that if you are raising money for a cause that is not a registered charity, that you must not claim that you are raising money for charity – you are raising funds for a cause. It’s also important that all funds raised must go to the cause.
All fundraising materials must include the required information for the charity or cause, for example, registered charity status or number, full company name and registered office address. Make sure that all details of the charity or cause are included in your materials so that donors are fully aware of who they are donating to.
